AboutThe events of Sternverse mainly take place in a fictional version of the Milky Way Galaxy, the only part of the known Universe that hasn't been subjected to the devastating effects of the Entropy - a catastrophic phenomenon that has otherwise turned the rest of creation into a state of chaotic, primordial non-existence. It is unknown whether any trace of reality still persists outside of the safe zone that spans most of the galaxy. This vast territory of inhabited and physically coherent space is commonly known as the Great Abyssal Tree - home for a multitude of technologically well-developed sapient races, among which humanity, that had only recently achieved space-flight capabilities, still struggles to find a place. The Great Abyssal Tree and its Exclusion Zone are maintained by an artificial quantum entity simply referred to as the Celestial Machine, which is designed with the sole purpose of protecting the galaxy from the devastating effects of the Entropy. The real extent of the Machine's power is unknown, but due to a series of tragic events it's been observed to gradually degrade; with each passing year more and more space is being affected by the constantly encroaching calamity, destroying countless worlds. The remaining safe harbor of the Great Abyssal Tree is being relentlessly threatened by the Entropocytes. Driven by the unfathomable will of the Entropy, these beings serve as its physical manifestation and exist with the single goal - total annihilation of the last traces of reality. It is up to the inhabitants of the galaxy, as well as the custodians of the Celestial Machine, to prevent the last remnant of the Universe from destruction and subsequent oblivion. |
